About the EyeGate® II Delivery System

NON-INVASIVE DRUG DELIVERY

EyeGate Pharma’s transscleral iontophoresis delivery platform, the EyeGate® II Delivery System, was originally designed at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami and optimized by EyeGate Pharma.

EyeGate Pharma’s iontophoresis technology is coulomb-controlled, which means that it regulates each unit of drug delivered for treatment. The EGDS utilizes low voltage electrical current to safely and effectively deliver a wide range of therapeutic types (e.g., low molecular weight compounds, biologics) through its annular ocular applicator. It has the potential to address many anterior and posterior segment diseases.

Over 1700 treatments have been performed with the EyeGate® II Delivery System. It is the first ocular iontophoresis system to have completed Phase II studies (Uveitis and Dry Eye) and Phase III studies (Uveitis and Dry Eye).
